I need to know more details:

EdcampJC will begin on Saturday, April 12th at 8:00am with registration, breakfast refreshments, networking, and session-building with your colleagues. This is when you can sign up to lead a session, prepare for the day’s events, and meet some new friends. At 9:00am, the organizers will kickoff the unconference and EdcampJC will get underway!

Sessions will be 60 minutes in length, and there will be 15 minutes in between each session to allow participants to navigate the building, tweet, and reflect on their learning.

For those of you who have never attended this event before, please make a note of the unusual part of the morning where we will build the schedule. Edcamp doesn’t believe in paying fancy people to come and talk at you about teaching! At an Edcamp, the people attending, or participants, are the ones who facilitate the sessions on teaching and learning! So Edcamp won’t succeed without a whole bunch of you wanting to lead a session of some kind! What kinds of sessions might you lead?

  • Discussions on issues in education

  • Share a model lesson or unit

  • Conduct an inquiry session into a new tool

  • Share something you’re passionate about

  • Discuss new things you’d like to learn more about

  • Share activities you’re looking to improve

  • Anything else you can think of that will get other interested teachers to come and share with you!

EdcampJC should be a great day of learning! Even if you don’t feel like facilitating a session, please come ready to share ideas.
